What to say.

Introduce yourself | “I’m a volunteer with Still, a project that creates visibility for aesthetic flat closure after mastectomy. I’d love to leave a Still Compendium with you.”

Why flat closure conversations matter | “Many patients don’t know that going flat is a valid option—or they feel uncomfortable raising it with their provider. The Still Compendium helps open that conversation by showing real people, real stories, and real outcomes.”

What the Compendium is for | “It’s designed for medical settings—appropriate for waiting rooms, consultation rooms, or patient libraries. Patients can pick it up and bring it to their provider, or providers can use it to introduce the topic of flat closure.”

The benefit of diverse stories and images | “What makes it powerful is the diversity of the people in it—different ages, body types, identities, and experiences. Patients can see someone who looks like them and hear from someone who had experiences like theirs. That’s rare in medical resources.”

How to order them | “You can visit this website to order free copies of the Still Compendium for your practice.”

How to say it.

  • You don’t need to memorize the script. Be you! Tell your own story and why sharing Still is important to you.

  • Point out parts of the Still Compendium that you love—a particular story, the diversity, the perks of being a flattie, etc.

  • Share Compendiums in the spirit of education and patient empowerment—not pressure or persuasion. Still isn’t ’selling’ AFC—it’s making it more accessible and supported so patients can make the reconstruction choice that’s right for them.

  • Represent Still and the flat community with warmth, positivity, and professionalism.

  • Do all of this this by leaning into Still’s message (I am Still..) and the hope and empowerment it provides. This work is about fostering connections to make things easier for breast cancer and high risk patients.

Go to our Google Form and let us know where you shared the Still Compendium. This information is crucial for helping us understand Still’s reach and where there may be gaps.
